Since February, 1997, Mr. Kooijmans has been Judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
Mr. Kooijmans has fulfilled positions, among others, as Professor of Law, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Chairman and Special Rapporteur of the UN Commission on Human Rights.
Ms. Helle E. Degn
From: Denmark. Born: 1946.
Since October 2000, Ms. Degn has been Commissioner of the Council of the Baltic Sea States on Democratic Development.
Ms. Degn has fulfilled positions, among others, as President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Member of Parliament, and Minister of Development Co-operation.

Mr. Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na’Im
Since June, 1995, Mr. An-Na’Im has been Professor of Law at the Emory University, Atlanta, U.S.A.
Mr. An-Na’Im has fulfilled positions, among others, as Director of Human Rights Watch/Africa, and Lecturer/Professor in Egypt, Sweden, Canada and Sudan.
Mr. Viet D. Dinh

Since 2003, Mr. Dinh has been Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, U.S.A.
Mr. Dinh has fulfilled positions, among others, as U.S. Assistant Attorney-General for Legal Policy, law clerk to judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Mark L. Entine
From: the Russian Federation. Born: 1955.
Since 2002, Mr. Entine has been Director of the MGIMO Institute of European Law, Moscow.
Mr. Entine has fulfilled positions, among others, as Deputy Representative to the Council of Europe, Director of the Directorate of European Cooperation (MFA) and Invited Professor.
Mr. Tom Malinowski
Since April, 2001, Mr. Malinowski has been Washington Advocacy Director for Human Rights Watch.
Mr. Malinowski has fulfilled positions, among others, as Special Assistant to U.S. President Bill Clinton and Senior Director for Foreign Policy Speechwriting at the National Security Council.
Dr. Bernard Ramcharan
Born: 1943 (Guyana)
Mr. Ramcharan has been Acting UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights since August, 2003, and has been Assistant Secretary-General since 1998.
Mr. Ramcharan has fulfilled various positions within the United Nations, among others as Director of the Office of the SRSG of UNPROFOR, Director in the Political Department, dealing with African conflicts. He has also been Director of Studies at The Hague Academy of International Law.
Mrs. Elisbeth Rehn
Born: 1935. From: Finland.
Since 2003, Mrs. Rehn has been Chairperson of Working Table 1 (Democratisation and Human Rights), Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe.
Mrs. Rehn has fulfilled positions, among others, as UN Undersecretary-General, UN Special Rapporteur in former Yugoslavia, Member of European Parliament and Minister of Defence.
